WSL seeking new investment

According to Sky News, the Women's Super League (WSL) is looking for outside investment in light of the growing interest in women's soccer.

The reports indicate that the WSL board wants to restart talks with the large investment bank Rothschild in order to "canvas investor interest in the league’s commercial rights."

The appointment of Rothschild again came six months after England's triumph at the European Championships, a home tournament victory that is credited with sparking the majority of interest in women's football.

In order to take advantage of the commercial boom and record-breaking attendance that the sport has experienced this year, WSL clubs are eager for the league to be administered independently from the FA.
